Description

National Research Council Canada requires six tests based on the CAN/ULC-S134 standard to be conducted. The supplier must be accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 to conduct CAN/ULC-S134 tests. A reusable steel support frame (design provided by NRC) will be constructed in front of the CAN/ULC-S134 test wall to support a set of window frame assemblies. For each test, 18 window assemblies (provided by NRC) will be installed on the support frame. Fire testing will then be conducted according to the CAN/ULC-S134 requirements. After the test, the windows will be removed from the support frame and disposed before proceeding with the next test. A report meeting the CAN/ULC-S134 requirements must be provided for each test. All videos, photos and data must also be provided in electronic form. Criteria for assessment of the Statement of Capabilities (Minimum Essential Requirements) (1) The supplier lab must have an existing test setup for conducting tests in accordance with CAN/ULC-S134. (2) The supplier lab must have the ability to conduct calibration tests, testing and reporting activities as per the latest version of CAN/ULC-S134. (3) The supplier lab must be accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 to conduct CAN/ULC-S134 tests. 4. Justification for the Pre-Identified Supplier Intertek is the only known lab that has an existing test setup for conducting full-scale fire tests in accordance with CAN/ULC-S134 and is accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 to conduct the CAN/ULC-S134 test. 5 This ACAN contract serves for the immediate contract of $ 315,000.00 and for future requirements of similar size and scope for 2 additional years.
