The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is engaged with Environment Canada and the Department of National Defense on the research, implementation and operation of environmental prediction systems under a collaboration agreement entitled Canadian Network of Coupled Environmental PredicTion Systems (CONCEPTS). As part of this initiative DFO is contributing to the development of an oceanographic data assimilation capability for the oceans around Canada.
